kids

my kids are unique! i think that is the best words to describe them. i don't know if anyone's kids do this and i thought it was just a tyler thing but it isn't, katie does it too.
when my kids have their binkis in their mouths, they put something between the binki and their upper lip. check out these pictures.
katie usually takes her socks off or uses a blanket, tylers was always string.
i thought it might be because when they were in the nicu, being on the ventilator all the tape on their upper lip....i don't know. they are just strange but i love them.
does anyone else's kids do this????

katie loves to hang out with tyler. she wants to be everywhere he is and do everything he does. tyler doesn't appreciate it at all. he always says mom she is touching my stuff. get it from her. oh the sibling love. will they ever get along?

YIKES!!!

So I was reading a comment left by SOMEONE...I seriously don't know who and decided to visit their blog.....well, their blog had a virus. Luckily for me my virus protection caught it before any damage could be done. It is really scary what is out there and people don't care if they screw up your computer.
JERKS!!!!!

Lens

I just got an email from Canon saying my lens is fixable but I will have to pay for it since it was my fault and not a workmanship default. It won't cost as much to fix it as to buy a new lens so I am really excited about that. I can't wait to get it back. Hopefully by the end of next week at the very latest. :)

Baseball

Brad and I had the opportunity to go see the Braves play the Rockies at Coors Field. We had great seats, great games and great entertainment.
On Friday, the Braves won 4-1 and on Saturday 4-3.
I wasn't able to get any great photos but we had a great time. It is always nice to be able to go on a date with your husband and know your kids are okay.
On Friday night, there was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. The game was delayed for about 30 minutes due to a storm that was suppose to come but really the wind blew and that was all.
After the storm was over, the game continued and when batter Martin Prado of the Braves got up to hit, he hit a line drive, straight to the pitcher, Alan Embree. He got hit in the tibia and it broke it. I felt really bad for the guy. He tried to walk but was down for the count. I think he will probably be out the rest of the season.
Overall it was great games, but more importantly the BRAVES won the games we went to. Overall they split the series 2-2.

SO SAD!

I am so very very sad! My new lens that I just bought, I broke it today. We went to the zoo and I wanted to change lens so I took this one off, put it on the stroller, changed my lens and Katie kicked where I had put my lens and this is the result. It you ever wanted to see what the inside looks like here is your opportunity. After that we came home because I was too sad to continue on. Luckily it is under warranty. I am not sure if this is covered but I am keeping my fingers crossed because I don't want to buy a new one. I should know in the next few days if they can fix it or if they will replace it or if I have to buy a new one.

Update on kids

We visited our new pulomonologist, Dr Vivek Balasubmariam (try saying that name 3 times fast) on Monday. He was very thorough. We spent about 3 hours there. He did chest x-rays to get a baseline on the kids since they are well. He said Tyler sounded good but since he has strider when he sleep and isn't gaining weight he wanted to do a sleep study just to see how he is at night which we said that was fine. With Katie, he said she sounded great and every now and then might need oxygen if she gets a cold because of her prematurity. So we were on our way.....

When we got home we had a message from Dr B to give him a call. The jist of the call was, in Tyler's x-ray in the upper right lung, he has bronchiectasis. Basically it is a condition in which damage to the airways causes them to widen and become flabby and scarred. It is usually caused by infection or some other condition which prevents the airway from clearing mucus. Each infection can cause more damage.

He isn't sure if this is from when he was intubated as a baby or if it is something new. So long story short, Tyler is going to be having a battery of tests to determine what is going on with him. The poor little boy. I feel so bad for him but you know through it all, he is still the happiest little boy I have ever seen.
