AZ TRIP

On a whim, we made a fast trip to AZ over the weekend. On Thursday we decided to go and celebrate Tyler's birthday in Safford. We figured he needed fireworks for his birthday and since Safford was having the Pioneer 24th of July Celebration we were on our way.
We left around 5:15pm, drove all night, got in around 3:30 AZ time. Slept for a few hours and then we started our quick adventure. On Friday we hung out with family. We spent the afternoon in the pool and went to dinner that evening.
On Saturday it was Tyler's 5th birthday. We invited his good friend Austin and Danika from Mesa. They were so excited to see each other. We spent that afternoon in the pool as well and had a hamburger fry along with cake and ice-cream. Tyler got some great gifts. A soccer ball, a toy story ball, monster truck, puzzle, camera and a robot. He loved them all. I think he was so excited about opening gifts, he didn't even eat any of his cake.

That evening we were getting ready to go to the 24th of July celebration when Katie fell and cut the bottom of her chin open. We rushed her to the emergency room where she got three stitches. Being in such a rush, I didn't take my camera to the celebration so there are no more pictures.
The rain started and it poured. We thought the parade was going to be canceled but the clouds parted and the parade was on. It was great to see so many people. The theme this year was we are thankful for....
After the parade was over, we headed to the ball fields for dinner and fireworks. The softball fields were flooded. Kids were covered from head to toe in mud, but not mine....heck no! I know I am a mean mama, but I didn't want that in my car.
It was finally time for the fireworks and they were great! Katie was afraid of the noise but she started to love it.
Sunday morning, we headed back to Colorado.
We had a great time! It was so fun to see family and friends even if it was for a short time.
